Support groups are facilitated by adoption competent professionals and are held monthly. Support groups are designed for new and experienced adoptive parents. Topics are generated by parents and focus on developing specialized parenting skills. For a full list of support group locations and times, please see the detailed schedule below. Childcare and training hours are available.
Additionally, each month REACH highlights community based trainings of interest to foster and adoptive parents. Bakersfield College Foster and Kinship Care Education Program offers training, special events and resources (view the left navigation menu for a complete list of offerings.)

An event every month that begins at 9:30am on day Fourth of the month, repeating until December 31, 2022
Aspiranet REACH’s adoptive parent support groups are designed to meet the current needs of our families and children. The groups allow parents to interact with one another while guided by important adoption topics. The groups are offered for families who have adopted a child through KCDHS or are interested in permanency for a child. This event is currently being held in a virtual format. Please contact Yaneth Arceo at firstname.lastname@example.org or Carrie Ontiveros at email@example.com to RSVP for the group and obtain the meeting link.
